My Crazy Critters

I have interesting animals,and I love them all.Our house is a varied zoo of both 2-legged and 4-legged creatures.Besides our 3 children,we also have 2 dogs(a 150lb Rotty,and a 4 lb chihauhua).5 cats,7 rabbits,12 chickens,7 ducks,2 rats and a fish tank.
This morning it is snowing,my Meika(the rotty)went outside to potty. She came in covered with large flakes-and promptly climbed up onto my lap.She is WAY to big to be a lapdog!!!!I was squished into the computer chair,as she licked my face. She loves the snow!!SweetPea(my chihuahua)spends the majority of her time hiding under the blankets on my bed(she is a bit wussy)but when I leave the room she follows me everywhere. She goes crazy when I take a shower, she pace and whines outside the bathroom door. When I come out she does her happy dance and then jumps at my legs and nips at my hands(I guess she really misses me for that whole 20 minutes).
We have a very interesting chicken as well, her name is Little Red Hen.Last winter was brutally cold and we lost several chickens.Little Red Hen went missing,we believed she died, but after about a week she returned. The crazy part is-she was missing her legs!!She only has stubbs from about the "knee"up.We left her alone for a few days, thinking she would die,but a year later-she is alive and well!!It took her a while to learn how to walk again, but its hard to tell she has anything wrong with her(besides the fact shes short)She loves to dig holes and take dust baths. Most people would have culled a chicken like her,but we figured she fought so hard to live-she deserved the chance!!She is still a good layer, and we enjoy watching our "miracle"chicken doing her normal chicken things.

Feeling Grateful

Today I feel grateful for my families love and support.Times are very hard for us right now,but we still have our house. We have food to eat,it is sparse sometimes-but we are not hungry. My children dont have the latest designer clothes, but their clothes are decent and clean. We may not have a lot of material things-but we have a LOT of love!!

My parents have always been there for me,and have always helped me to the best of their ability-they show unconditional love(whether I have deserved it or not).Thank you Mom and Dad!!!

My children love me unconditionally as well, they forgive my imperfections.I am not perfect but to my kids ,it doesnt matter.I am silly, crazy mom-who dances with them in the living room, and sings (very badly)along with their favorite songs.Who surprises them with special homemade treats and craft ideas. That is there for them when they are hurt or sick,or if they just had a bad day.To my children-I am just Mom.

My husband Kyle loves me,even though I can be impossible to deal with sometimes!!Even at my worse,he still loves me!!

All in all,I have to say that I do have a lot to be grateful for.Just remember when things look bleak-that tomorrow is the future yesterday!

First blog

This is my first ever blog. Not really sure what I want to say.

Thanksgiving is approaching fast,So I guess I will talk about what I am thankful for.

I am thankful that my husband is still with me.After the tragic passing of my Cousin Tom(due to a car accident)I am so much more aware how close I came to losing Kyle.In October 2007,Kyle was t-boned(drivers side) by a large truck hauling x-mas trees.I was told it took 30 minutes to remove him using the jaws of life, the E.M.Ts believed he was already gone.

He was rushed to Mercy hospital to be stabalized for transport to Munson. Here I was handed his bloodied belongings and told he may die on the way.He was bleeding internally and had already been givin multiple units of blood(they had no more blood to give him -one of the reasons they had to transport him).I could follow the ambulance.

At Munson I was told the full extent of his injuries. His pelvis was broke in 3 places,he had a lascerated kidney and spleen,6 ribs broken(front and back)a collapsed lung and a broken ankle.Much to my amazement he had no head injuries.I was told he would be in the hospital for several months and in a wheelchair for at least a year..boy were they wrong!!!
He was in the hospital for 2 weeks(he wanted out!!!)they were amazed that he was able to go home(Kyle is very stubborn). He needed his wheelchair until January..when he announced he "wasnt sitting in that damn chair again!!".After some physical therapy and pins in his ankle,he has recovered fairly well,He will have some issues for the rest of his life though, his hip will never be completely normal and will get arthritis(it bothers him almost daily)and his ankle" feels" the cold weather, but over all Kyle was extremely Lucky!!and I am extremely greatful that he survived!!!

I am also grateful that my children are happy and healthy,They drive me crazy sometimes, but I am happy that they are mine!!
